The tour:
Day 1: Bishkek - Karakol (450 km - 8 h) (1 650 m. a. s. l.)
In the morning we will go towards Karakol city locating in the eastern part of the high mountain Issyk-Kul Lake. On our way, we will visit the Burana Tower (minaret from the 11th century) and an open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). Then you will be transferred to the incredible Issyk-Kul Lake - the second largest alpine lake in the world (1609m.above sea level). The Lake is also called "the pearl of Central Asia". You will really enjoy the amazing view of the Tien -Shan Mountains that surround the lake. Thanks to salty water, Lake Issyk Kul possesses curative properties and doesn't freeze up in winter. On the way, we will make a short stop to visit ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.). They were depicted by local tribes of Saks and Usuns that believed that Issyk Kul Lake was the center of the world. During transfer to Karakol town you will drive along the whole northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. Overnight stay is. "Elita" hotel in Karakol.
Day 2: Karakol - « Mokraya Polyana » glade-upper circus (2790 m a. s. l.)
In the morning we will visit the Dungan mosque. One of the sights of Karakol .It was built in Chinese architectural style without using a single metal nail. After that we will visit an old wooden Orthodox Church. It was made of wood more than 100 years ago and even nowadays attracts a lot of visitors and believers. After that we will go to Karakol gorge. It is an amazing gorge that is situated at the heart of the Terskey Mountains. Here we can see Turkestan spruce trees that are widespread only here in Kyrgyzstan. The height of the tree can reach 18 meters and the girth of its trunk - 1.5 meters. We will have hiking to the foot of the glade with the name « Mokraya Polyana » (7 h). Dinner and overnight stay are in tent camp at the height of 2790 meters above sea level.
Day 3: « Mokraya Polyana » glade - Eastern Irdik Lake (3 200 m. a. s. l.)
In the morning we start our hiking to the eastern Irdik Lake (3200 m, 7 hours hiking). We will hike over the Bokovoi pass (3300 meters asl). During the hike we will see constant changing of the landscapes. You will see steep cliffs and precipices, high rocks, green mountains; we will go through the juniper forest where you feel absolutely fresh and clean air. There we can see a wonderful and unforgettable sunset over the most beautiful peaks of Kungey Range: Fuchika (4010m), Morozov (3960m), 800 years of Moscow (3872m). Dinner and overnight stay are in tent camp.
Day 4: Eastern Irdik Lake - Western Irdik Lake (3 300 m. a. s. l.)
We will be hiking for 7 hours today. On the way we will see a lot of edelweiss meadows (the flowers of love) and pastures which are used by Kyrgyz nomads. We will see a lot of marmots at the altitude of 3650 m. On the way we will hike over Severnyi pass that is 3380 meters above sea level. While hiking at these places you start to forget about busy civilization and you can really relax enjoying the amazing views of our Mother Nature. Dinner and overnight stay are in tent camp. at the altitude of 3300 meters above sea level.
Day 5: Western Irdik Lake - Karakol (1 650 m. a. s. l.)
After breakfast we start our hiking with descent to Diychin valley (5 hours) where a lot of dungan people live. Dungans are Chinese Muslims that were prosecuted by the Chinese in the 19th century and fled to Kyrgyzstan. Today we will visit a Dungan family, and you will try traditional lagman soup. While hiking to the village it is possible to meet real nomadic families on the way. Every summer they go up to the mountains with herds of cattle and live in yurts. Yurts are collapsible nomadic dwellings made without using a single nail and unnatural materials! Afterwards transfer to Karakol town (10 km - 25 min). Overnight stay are in "Elita" guesthouse (1650 m).
Day 6: Karakol - Kochkor (280 km - 5 h, 1800 m. a. s. l.)
In the morning we will visit a local bazaar and try national food, such as ashlyamfu and shashlyk made of beef or lamb. Then we will start the way to Kochkor village. On the way we will visit Djeti Oguz Mountains that are very popular because of their beauty and of course you will see the Broken Heart Mountain. Then while driving along the southern coast of Issyk Kul Lake we will visit a private family factory for producing yurts. Your lunch will be in Bokonbaevo village in Talgat's House. Talgat is famous hunter with eagles in seven generation. Hunting with golden eagle is very popular in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia and Talgat will tell us about this kind of hunting and in the afternoon we can do some photos of the birds. Talgat will also tell us the way he trains his birds of prey. After arrival in Kochkor village you will find out about national traditions and customs. You will watch the process of making traditional Kyrgyz carpets and even take part in it! After it traditional dinner will be in a yurt where we will be listening to a folk concert. This night you will spend in a house of a local family.
Day 7: Kochkor - Bishkek (210 km - 5 h)
In the morning you will have breakfast together with hosts. After breakfast we will drive you to Bishkek. After arriving you will have time to have a nap in your guesthouse and after that will be the last dinner in national restaurant with national music. Last night you will spend in «Asia Mountains» hotel. You will be picked up and accompanied to Manas International Airport by your tour-guide according to the details of your flight.
