Since ancient times horses played a vital role in the nomad's life. There is a Kyrgyz saying "Horses are men's wings". It was impossible to survive without a horse in our mountainous country. During the tour you get acquainted with Kyrgyz traditions, try the national drink Kumis (mare's milk) and delicious dishes. At the same time you will be riding a horse like a nomad along the Great Silk Road.
Tour summary:
Day 1: Bishkek - Karakol
You will be collected by your guide from Manas International Airport and accompanied to Bishkek. Drive from the Airport till Bishkek takes half an hour. In Bishkek you will start the day with a breakfast. Then you will be transferred to the (1608m.above sea level) celestial Issyk Kul Lake (200 km). The Lake is also called "the treasure of Central Asia". We will visit the Burana Tower (minaret from the 11th century) and an open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors) on our way. In Cholpon - Ata you will also have an opportunity to visit ancient stone carvings that are dated back to 800 B.C., including the local museum of Issyk - Kul. National dinner will be in a restaurant at 8 p.m. For additional price you can have a folk show there. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 2: Karakol - Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley
At 8 o'clock you will be served with your breakfast. The whole morning will be devoted to a guided City Tour in karakol. The tour includes the visit of the old wooden Holy Trinity Cathedral. This will be followed by the visit of the Dungan mosque. One of its highlights is the fact that it is built in Chinese style without using nails. Afterward, you will visit the museum of one of the world's greatest explorers - M.V. Prjevalsky. His success was in the crossing of the great Taklamakan desert and the discovery of more than 4000 species of animals, including Prjevalsky Horse. This City Tour will be ended with a traditional lunch and we will leave Karakol at 1 p.m. and start our (70 km) way to striking Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley. En route, you will see differently shaped red mountains, just before we will visit the mineral sources of Jeli Suu hot springs, where you will have the chance to take a bath. After bathing, (1 hour) horseback riding tour is waiting for you to the Physical and Geographical station of Chong Kyzyl Suu. Dinner. Overnight stay will be in yurts. A yurta is a collapsible dwelling that is built without nails, an original nomad's dwelling thatis made of a wooden skeleton that is covered with thin felt mats.
Day 3: Chong Kyzyl Suu - Ashu Tor - Chong Kyzyl Suu (6h.)
Fortifying breakfast. After breakfast, at 9 a.m. we will leave the yurt camp to start our horseback riding tour to (2800m.) Ashu Tor Pass. With a bit of luck you might see mountain goats. Just after lunch you will have a rise on horses to a marvelous mountain lake, which finds its origin in a glacier. After enjoying the mountain lake views we come back to the Station. At 8 p.m. dinner is served. Overnight stay is in yurts.
Day 4: Chong Kyzyl Suu - Jumakuchak
We continue our horseback riding tour after breakfast from the Valley of Kishi Kyzyl Suu to Jumakuchak for six hours via the small Pass of Jumalai. There is a gorgeous sight of the surface of Issyk-Kul Lake. On the Jumalai pass we will have a picnic. You will have a chance to explore on your own its untouched nature. Dinner is served at 7 p.m. Overnight is in tents in Jumakuchak among the yurts of the Kyrgyz nomadic people.
Day 5: Jumakuchak - Kok Terek village
We start our day wit breakfast at 8 o'clock in the morning, before you will mount your horse to take six hours ride from Jumakuchak to the Village of Kok Terek. En route, you will see "500 Rams" red cave and a charming mountain cascade. This cascade is located not far from hot springs (40 degrees Celsius) that are also possible to visit if you wish. You will have your lunch nearby cascade. After having a rest we continue our way to Kok Terek village. Dinner and overnight will be in a guesthouse.
Day 6: Kok Terek - Bishkek
You will be served breakfast at 8 o'clock after packing your backpacks. After all necessary preparations will be finished; you will be transferred along the southern shore of the famous Issyk-Kul Lake (380 km.) to Bishkek by car. You will arrive in Bishkek in a Hotel **** at around 7 p.m., there you will have free time for yourself until your pick up. At 8 p.m. you will have a departure dinner in a café.
Day 7: Bishkek - Europe Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the Airport.
